Different view, same document
Did you know that you could split the document and view them separately in different panes? Yes, this means you can view different parts of the document on one screen without having to scroll down or up to find it. Â This is possible when you split the document. To split the document, you need to access the option ‘Split’ from the ‘View’ tab on the Ribbon. Once you’re on the ‘View’ ribbon, click on the option ‘Split’ to get the splitter bar on the screen. Decide on the position where you need to split the screen and click there to get different panes on the screen. You can toggle between the two panes with ‘F6’ key and access and edit different parts document at the same time. You can remove the split once you’re done using this feature by clicking on ‘Remove Split’ from the same ‘View’ tab.
Removing the border line
If you have ever faced this trouble, you know what we’re talking about when we say border line. When you input a series of hyphens in your document, Microsoft Word 2010 automatically inserts a line across the page. If you try deleting it, you would only end up spending time on it. You cannot delete it. This line is known as border line and it will stare at you. Unless, you do what we’re about to tell you now. Click on a part of the document that’s above this border line first. Then on your ‘Home’ tab on the ribbon, you would find the option for ‘Borders’, click on that. A drop-down would appear on the screen from where you need to select ‘No Border’ option to remove the border line from the document. So the next time you see the line, don’t worry about it. Recovering unsaved documents
This is one of the most useful features that you would find in Microsoft Word 2010. On some terrible days, you might forget to save the document and on such days, if you close the document you’re working on before saving it, all your data is lost. Complete data? We don’t think so. This isn’t a new feature but Microsoft Word 2010 has a feature which allows you to recover the unsaved documents that you were working on. This was an improvement to the ‘Autosave’ feature that existed in the previous versions of Microsoft Word. To access this feature, you have to click on ‘File’ tab on the Ribbon and then ‘Recent’ option under that menu. There you would find the option ‘Recover unsaved documents’ which will open a window where all your unsaved files are saved.
