Learn about customize set-up before installing Microsoft® Powerpoint 2010

Microsoft PowerPoint is a desktop presentation program by Microsoft. We can purchase Microsoft PowerPoint either as a part of Microsoft office Pack or separately. We can use Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentations. The presentations Microsoft PowerPoint can be printed, or it can be displayed on computer or screens as videos with the help of a projector. Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 is the latest version of Microsoft PowerPoint. It has many more features than its old versions. The main feature of this Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 is that we can easily customize the set-up of it. By customizing the behavior of setup, user gets the complete control of it. i.e., by customizing user can run the installation without any direct interaction. To customize the set-up, users have to use MS Office Customization Tool (OCT). The OCT will create a Set-up customization (.msp) file and with this file the installation can be done.

Creating Network Installation Point
To start the installation, we need to create a network installation point. It is created by copying the files to a folder on the network from the CD. Now give the ‘setup.exe/admin’ command on the root of the network installation point to begin the process. Now select Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, and then select organization name and Installation location on the left pane of the window. Then enter the users default installation location on the ‘Default Installation Path’.
Additional Network Resources
For creating an additional network resources, click on the ‘Add’ button on the left pane of ‘Additional Network Resources’. Now enter the path of the backup resource on the ‘Network Server’. Again clicking on the left pane, i.e. on ‘Licensing and user interface’ we can enter the ‘KMS client key’. Key Management Service (KMS) is the activation of all volume license editions. KMS is a method provided by Office Activation Technologies and it is used for such activating products that are licensed under Microsoft volume Licensing programs.
The next step for customizing Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 is to enter the product key. Enter a valid Multiple Activation Key (MAK), in the OCT. (MAK key is a twenty-five numbers or characters key). But we can enter it by using the option ‘Enter another product key’. Entering the MAK key is a method provided by Office Activation Technologies for activating such products they are licensed under the Microsoft Volume Licensing programs. Thus by entering the key, the product is validated.
