Requirements for connecting the accounts

Outlook Express 2010 software should be installed on the system. Microsoft Outlook Connector or the OLC is also required for the purpose of connecting Outlook to the Hotmail. Microsoft Outlook Connector version 14 is suitable for Outlook 2010 software since the previous version of the Connector is not supported on the new 2010 Outlook application. Manual configuration of the e-mail server is not needed in the case of Hotmail account.

Open Outlook 2010 software application Window and select the file tab from the top of the Window. In the file option under the account information, the user can view the add account option. Click on the button and enter name, email address and password on the area provided. Press 'Next' button. If the Connector software is there, then the account will be added to the application automatically without any configuration.

Microsoft Outlook Connector software is required to download while configuring Hotmail account in the Outlook application. The Outlook Connector or OLC 14 is better suitable with the Outlook 2010. The user is recommended to download the software before the setting up of the account to avoid the prompt to download during the set-up.
