Integrate social networks
You can now integrate your social networks in Microsoft Outlook 2010 with a plugin called ‘Social Connector’. This plugin integrates your LinkedIn updates to your Outlook. For now, the only social networking site that you can integrate with this plugin is LinkedIn. Facebook and other social networking sites can also be integrated with Microsoft Outlook 2010 in future. You can download this plugin from here. Microsoft would prompt message that this plugin is not recognized by them. Ignore the warning that Microsoft Outlook 2010 and install this plugin to integrate LinkedIn with Microsoft Outlook 2010.
Creating a Quick Step
‘Quick step’ is a feature that’s been introduced in Microsoft Outlook 2010. Quick Step lets you create shortcuts or email actions which do the job with just one click. You can find this option on the ‘Home’ tab on the Ribbon. Select the option ‘Create New’ from the Quick Steps menu. Once you select the option, a window would open on the screen from where you can create a new Quick Step. You can choose from the available actions in the drop-down list and then select ‘Add Action’ to finish the process. You can also give a name to the Quick Step. Apart from that, you can also assign a shortcut key for the Quick Step to make things easy for you. Once you choose all the necessary options, click on ‘Finish’ to complete the whole process. There, your Quick Step is read to use now!
Syncing your Google calendar with Outlook 2010
Again, here you would be required to use a third party plugin to do this. Microsoft doesn’t provide you with any tools to sync Google calendar with the Microsoft Outlook 2010 calendar. By third party, we mean a plugin that’s developed by Google. You can download it here. This is simple to install, just follow what the wizard tells you and you can easily install the application that will help you in syncing the calendars between Google and Microsoft Outlook 2010. Now you cannot give the reason that you missed an appointment because your calendars were not in sync or miss an important appointment or a meeting because of the same reason.
