Here’s what you can do with text in Excel 2010

We all know that Microsoft Excel 2010 is the application that we all use when it comes to numbers. But often we have to input text in Microsoft Excel 2010 too. Agreed that there are lot of functions and formulae that you can use with the numbers in Microsoft Excel 2010, did you know about the functions that you can use when it comes to the text?
If you have names in a column like “Black, Billy”, did you know that you can split the text from that column and display two names in two different columns? Let’s see how you can do that. You need to select the column in which the names are displayed together. After selecting the column, go to the ‘Data’ tab. Then click the option ‘Text to columns’ option.
Once you select that option, a small window opens where you’ll have to select the ‘Delimited’ and select ‘Next’ and then choose the comma as the delimiter which will then break up the text that are present before and after the comma and gives them in two different columns.
