Microsoft Excel is a powerful tool which enables you to perform a multitude of tasks when you are dealing with numbers. Take our word for it, people who have used it and are well versed with it, would want to use it for anything and everything.
Graphs are something that not everyone is comfortable with in Excel 2010. When you have to create, a simple graph for sales figures achieved by channel sellers for the last six months could look this:
This is just one way of making a graph, or the simplest way of representing your data in a graphical format. Let us see how you can create a graph like this.
First, you need the data in an organized form like shown below for you to create a graph.
- Select the data for which you need the chart or graph to be created
- Select ‘Insert’ option from the Office ribbon
- Select a type from the ‘Chart’ menu
That’s it, you should now see your chart on the spreadsheet, from here, you may choose to customize and edit it as needed. Never thought it was this easy, did you? That’s the beauty of Excel 2010: Almost everything is automated. In the older versions, there were many more options that one had to choose from which consumed significantly longer time. With Excel 2010, the only activity where you need to spend time is getting your data in place, after which everything is a breeze.
