Microsoft Excel 2010: Simplified Age Calculation
If you are creating a database of the students in your class and want to calculate their age, on the basis of their date of birth provided in the application forms, don’t go bonkers trying to do that manually or through the long way of calculating each age separately. Simply open up your Microsoft Excel 2010 spreadsheet and write down the formula and only enter that date of birth of the different students. The application will itself do the rest for you. Isn’t this a handy way to tackle data compilation that could have taken you several hours otherwise?
Here are the steps that you can follow:
- To calculate age in Microsoft Excel, select the cell where you want to display the result.
- Type ‘=INT ((reference to the cell containing the current date - reference to the cell containing the birth date) / 365.25 the average no. of days in a year)’.
- Press ‘Enter’ to calculate the age.
