Includes Protected View
Microsoft Office 2010 includes a Protected View that might help to enhance security and protect the system from threats. Protected View, works by opening new documents from unknown sources or from any file from the Internet in a 'digital sandbox' that may prevent a user from editing the document or executing macros or other embedded features. So that you can review the document without invoking any harmful or malicious attachment or code.
Microsoft Office 2010 offers an enhanced feature called Restrict Editing. You can launch this option from 'Review' menu. In Restrict Editing, you can limit formatting to a selection of styles, it may allow only a particular type of editing or limit users to some specific part of the document. Once you have made changes, you can click 'Start Enforcement Protection' to apply them. You can also disable them later if needed.
The Protected Mode is yet another enhanced feature of Microsoft Office 2010. Everytime you download some document, you will automatically open Microsoft Office 2010 in Protected Mode.
