Previous Versions of Office 2010 are Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007. Microsoft Office 2003 includes Word 2003, Excel 2003, Outlook 2003, and PowerPoint 2003. Microsoft office 2007 includes Word 2007, Excel 2007, Outlook 2007, and PowerPoint 2007. Microsoft 2007 provides you more features than the 2003 version including Word embraces, basic desktop publishing tools, Excel easier formulas and attractive PowerPoint presentations improved Outlook task and time management.

Ribbon and Backstage Menu in Office 2010

Older versions of Microsoft Office include a ribbon menu in all the applications except Outlook. But it Microsoft Office 2010, Outlook and Microsoft OneNote 2010 also contains a ribbon menu, as it provides you easy options to customize the appearance and features in the ribbon. The Office 2007 avoids the file menu of all programs with activated Office logo. In Office 2010 it uses file tab with same color of its back ground. So Word has blue file tab and Excel has green tab. By clicking the file tab you will get a new back stage view that includes your file options.

This new version provides you advanced share and save options compared to the previous versions. Like previous versions you can save data in hard drive and send through email. Using Office 2010 you can save directly into Windows Live account from the backstage using ‘Save and Send’ option. You can take screen shot of any currently opened window by directly pasting it into word. Office 2010 also includes security features. It will inform you about unsafe downloading while you download and it hides the ribbon menu for disabling editing. It will show the ribbon menu only after you click on ‘enable editing’.
