OCT role and tips
OCT is a part of Office Setup program. When you run the OCT, you will choose to create a new Setup customization (.msp) file or to open an existing .msp file. When you create a new file, the OCT will display a list of the products that are available on the network installation point. You need to select a single product which you want to customize. To modify the .msp customization file, you have to select the .msp file for the same product that you customize by using the OCT. You can customize Microsoft Office 2010 and save your customizations in a set-up customization .msp file.
Features of OCT
There are mainly two versions of the OCT. One is for 32-bit Office 2010 and other for 64-bit Office 2010. The 64-bit version of the OCT may provide the same user interface, configurable settings and capabilities as the 32-bit version. The OCT files are found to be located in the Admin folder under the x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) folders, respectively. The import feature allows administrators of mixed environments (32-bit and 64-bit) to do the set-up customizations one time. It will also provide support for adding multiple Outlook e-mail accounts.
Firstly, type 'setup.exe/admin' in Command Prompt. In the Select Product dialog box, select the product to configure and click 'OK'.
