Microsoft Office 2010 Jump Lists are the menu options that pop up when users right-click on any icon in the taskbar. These Jump Lists help jump to programs that users are recently working on. These files are currently pinned programs to the task bar. Users can work on the Jump Lists with the mouse control or using fingers when users can control Windows 7 touchscreen options. The Jump Lists are the replacements of Quick Launch option that was present in earlier versions of Windows operating system. The Jump Lists are accessible from two locations i.e. the Windows taskbar and the Start Menu. When users pin programs to the taskbar, Jump Lists of those programs will be available from the icon at the task bar. To see current files of the program, users need to right click on the icon on the taskbar. Then a pop list will appear displaying list of files. If the currently used program is pinned to the Start Menu, then the Jump Lists will appear from the Start Menu. As you click on the arrow beside the program at the Start Menu, the Jump Lists will pop up.
Pin and Unpin Jump Lists
To get a quick access to any of your Word documents, PowerPoint presentation or any other Microsoft Office 2010 files, the easie4st way would be to pin those at the taskbar. To pin the file to the taskbar, open the program to be pinned and a Jump List will pop up. Now right-click on the icon to the taskbar and select ‘Pin To Taskbar’. Now whenever you want to open a current file of that particular program, right-click on the Jump List and just select a file. Now if you want to remove a program from the taskbar, you just have to open the Jump List and choose ‘Unpin This Program from Taskbar’.
The Jump Lists are easy access to any file using a program pinned to the Jump List. For this, you need to make sure the file is a recently opened file to make it appear to the Jump List. To open that file from the Jump List you need to open the List, point to the file and click at the Pushpin icon. You can remove a file that you do not need to access or you have deleted from the Jump Lists. To remove, you can open the Jump List, right-click the file and choose ‘Remove from This List’
