Note: For demonstration, in this article we are using a Gmail to set-up profile in Microsoft Outlook 2010.
Step 1: Open ‘Internet Explore’, type ‘www.gmail.com’ in the Address bar and then press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard.
Step 2: Log into your Gmail account, Click on ‘Options’ and then select ‘Mail Settings’.
Step 3: Under the ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’ tab make sure POP is enabled.Â Â Select ‘Enable POP for all mail (even mail that’s already been downloaded)’ radio button, and then click on ‘Save Changes’. Minimize your web browser.

Step 4: Open Microsoft Outlook 2010.
Step 5: If you haven’t run Outlook 2010 yet, click Next to start setup and add your email account.
Step 6: Select ‘Yes’ to add an email account to Outlook, click 0n ‘Next’.Â Enter your account information and then select the ‘Manually configure server settings or additional server types’ radio button, Click on ‘Next’.
Step 7: Select Internet E-mail and then click ‘Next’.
Step 8: Enter your username, email address, and log in information. Under Server information enter
• Account Type: POP3
• Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com
• Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com
Step 9: After that data is entered in, click on the ‘More Settings’ button.
Step 10: Select the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab, and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.Â Verify Use same settings as my incoming mail server is marked as well.
Step 11: Select the Advanced tab and enter the
• Incoming Server (POP3) value: 995
• Outgoing server (SMTP) value: 587
• Select the check box next to ‘This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)’
• Set Use the following type of encrypted connection to TLS
Step 12: You also might want to uncheck the box to remove messages from the server after a number of days.Â This way your messages will still be accessible from Gmail online.
Step 13: Click ‘OK’ to close the window, and then click ‘Next’ to finish setting up the account.Â Outlook will test your account settings to make sure everything will work; click ‘Close’ when this is finished.
Step 14: Provided everything was entered in correctly, you’ll be greeted with a successful setup message. Now click on ‘Finish’.
Step 15: Gmail will be all ready to sync with Outlook 2010.
