Integrate Twitter with Microsoft Outlook 2010
For those who need Twitter for their work would appreciate this, a lot. You can now integrate Twitter with Microsoft Outlook 2010. You can tweet directly from the application instead of logging on to the web interface of Twitter and tweeting. This is only possible if you download the add-in called TwInbox. This add-in has almost all the important features like status updates, receiving updates from the people who you follow on Twitter, manage and group the tweets that you need to, and also allows you to manage multiple Twitter accounts right from your favorite application Microsoft Outlook 2010.
So here’s how the application basically works, all the tweets would be displayed in your inbox by default. This option can be changed in the preferences and that will make the add-in to display the tweets in another folder. Why would you want to clog your inbox with emails and the updates from people you follow on Twitter? This wonderful add-in allows you to archive tweets and you can also search for the tweets using keywords. This could be very helpful for people who use Twitter for business and networking.
Once you download and install the add-in you’d have to enter your login credentials and choose your preferences which will be saved by the add-in and the same would be applied when it starts working. The preferences include basic features like the amount of time that add-in should take before it checks for new messages from the people you follow and the folder where all the updates from Twitter should be displayed in and other such things. You can also choose to shorten your URLs with tinyurl for URLS that are longer than 40 characters. You can also assign a category for all the new messages that arrive from Twitter to make your life easy when you have to access the items from this add-in.
This add-in is not officially released by Microsoft but is being used by lot of people and has been written about by guys at Gigaom. This is a safe add-in that you can install in Microsoft Outlook 2010. Go ahead and make your days ahead more productive with this add-in.
