For upgrading my 32-bit Office 2007 to a 64-bit Office 2010 on my Windows 7/64 machine you tell:

The system running on 32 bit Office 2007 cannot be upgraded to 64-bit Office 2010. However, you don’t need to remove the hardware compatible with Office 2007 as it will be compatible with Office 2010 also.

When I still like to use the 64-bit Office 2010 - what to do? Remove my old 32-bit Office 2007 and lose all old information?

Ideally, it should upgrade. I do not think of any reason if it is not. Can you please provide us with error messages you are getting while upgrading.

We might be able to help you better if we have those.

      Dear Sir/Madam,
      I purchased Office 2010, 3 system installation.
One installation was done the other was as follows.
I had official Windows Vista Home on my Laptop Sony. I upgraded to Windows 7 Premium Official Version. Before I had Office 10 install on Windows Vista.
Now when upgrading for windows 7 i install again. But now i cannot install on my third system.
      What would you suggest.
Is the installlation based on Handware control or is it based on no. of times the installation done on one system.
      Kindly advice
      Supriy

There are 2 ways you can install Office 2010. You install it using a disk or by downloading it from the internet. Following are the links which would help in the installation:

It certainly isn't a resource issue. Try the following and let us know if it worked for you:
      1) Copy the entire content of the disk on to the hard drive and then try to install.
      2) Try to install in a clean boot state

Microsoft provides an alternative method to remove Office. You may use the fixit tool as mentioned in the link below:
      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
If this does not work, you will have to manually remove it which involves manual deletion of the associated files and folder and removing associated entries from windows registry.
Let us know if you need any further help on this.

I am having all the same problems. Brand new machines with 64 bit and 32 bit system capability. Office Professional Plus fails. On one machine it asks me to remove all other office products - the only one of which is click n start. I remove it and the problem still exists. On the other machine there is no office program. Program won't install from the download.
Do you see how many questions there are here? Can you please provide some real help?

You'll need to follow these steps in this order:

      - Backup your documents(as a precaution): Go to C:Users(considering that C drive is the primary partition), right click on the folder corresponding to your user account, click copy and paste it to an external hard drive.

      - Start the Windows 7 installation and choose the 'Upgrade' option when you get to the page to choose the type of installation. It will run the 'upgrade advisor' and produce a 'compatibility report'.

      - If the report lists some incompatible programs, you might need to uninstall them. You will also need to take care of incompatible hardware components.

      - Once Windows 7 is completely installed, start the installation of Office Professional 2010.
