Download and Install Office 2010 Service Pack 2

Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 2 (SP2) is the smart and correct way to get latest updates for Office 2010. There are no preconditions to install this pack. You don’t even need to have Office Service Pack 1 installed to get Office 2010 Service Pack 2. But yes, once you have updated to SP2, you need to restart your PC.
Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 2 provides two kinds of fixes.

Office 2010 Service Pack Installation
There are two ways of going about installing Service Pack 2.
Method 1: Go for Microsoft Update to get SP2. If you are going for this method, you will also get updates for Microsoft Project 2010, Microsoft Visio 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2010.
Method 2: Download the SP2 package from Microsoft Download Center
Before you go about this, you need to check if you have the Office version in 32 bit or 64 bit version.
- Open any Office 2010 application like Word 2010.
- On the file tab, click Help. You will be able to see the version information in About Microsoft <ApplicationName> section.
- Check for the Office version number. If it is greater or equal to 14.0.7015.1000 then it is SP2.
Note: If you have 32-bit version of Office 2010 installed on 64-bit version of Windows, you need to install Office 2010 Service Pack 2 32-bit package.

Service Pack 2 offered the following improvements:
Excel 2010 Service Pack 2
It improves the overall performance and compatibility with the other versions of Excel 2010. It fixes issues that lead to decreased Excel performance and Excel file size increase as additional built-in styles are added.
It also fixes the issue in which data validation lists containing comma signs (,) are broken in an .xlsx or .xlsb file. The reason behind this error is when the user locale to a location doesn’t use the comma sign (,) to separate the lists.
Service Pack 2 also fixes the issue where .xlsx file is created in Office 2013 that has an app bound to a table is corrupted on save. It also addresses the issue where all Agave formulas in the sheet are removed.
Outlook 2010 Service Pack 2
Office 2010 Service Pack 2 fixes the issue that comes in the message size in some long emails. It also fixes an issue that comes when a spell check is done, before sending out a mail.
PowerPoint 2010 Service Pack 2
It helps improve the quality of videos in a presentation, once the videos are optimized or compressed by PowerPoint 2010. It also further fixes issues that occur when there is a co-author in a presentation at the same time.
Along with this, it also fixes an issue with Mozilla Firefox crash when you try viewing a PPT online on a Mac computer that has Microsoft Silverlight 3 or 4 installed.
Word 2010 Service Pack 2
It fixes problems related to bookmarks, fields, track changes, templates, tablets, object wrapping, auto correct options and email address.
