Problems when you upgrade beta version to full version
Upgrading beta to full version is not going to be a very easy process. To uninstall the version, just scroll down for the required software after entering the control panel, right click and select uninstall. The confirmation dialog box appears for the completion of this process. After that reboot is required. Now the real problem arises when you start the installation. A set-up error message will be shown. Another problem that may come during upgrading is that it will not get uninstalled at all. There will also be a problem during installation where you will get an error message saying that set-up cannot open the registry key.
Solutions to fix the issues
The set-up error occurs because of the left over Office applications or standalone Office products. So, we need to download and install cleanup utility that will resolve the issue. Now launch the utility software and delete the Office applications. Be sure you do not delete other wanted data. Now restart your system. Now it will ask the product key, and you will be able to install the software without errors. To fix the problem of the beta version not getting uninstalled is to again download the Windows® Installer Cleanup Utility software and then manually uninstall the beta version. Select the required option for the installer cleanup dialog box and click Remove. Now there is a necessity to delete registry settings. For doing that, just go to search and type ‘regedit’. Now go to the registry editor and right click the Office file and delete it. Now the temporary folder contents have to be deleted. For that just search the folder by typing ‘%temp%’ in the search dialog box and deleting it. Now restart the machine and the installation process will go on smoothly. To solve the problem of set-up cannot open the registry key, just go to command prompt and run the following command ‘secedit/configure/cfg%windr%infdefltbase.inf/db defltbase.sdb/verbose’. This will surely fix the issue and the Microsoft® Office 2010 will be installed in your system.
The full version of Microsoft® Office 2010 will let you enjoy the latest feature like ribbon interface, Backstage View™ etc. It is necessary that you update it regularly to enjoy the maximum benefits of the software. These updates are available in the official site of the Microsoft® Office.
